Cathedral City man kicked in head while robbed

Cathedral City police searched today for whoever kicked a man in the head while robbing him of his wallet, authorities said.

The man staggered into his home in the 32000 block of Canyon Vista Road just before 2 this morning with his head and face covered with blood, said Cathedral City police Sgt. Corwin de Veas. “He was lethargic, had no memory of the assault and was too incoherent to provide any statement.”

The victim had facial and head injuries, de Veas said. “Several areas of fresh blood were located outside of his residence and the adjacent residence to the north.”

Officers canvassed the area but could not locate any witnesses to the assault and robbery, he said.

Anyone with information about the incident was urged to call Cathedral City police at 760-770-0303.
