Two men on the run after home invasion robbery
Cathedral City police were looking today for two men suspected of carrying out a home-invasion robbery.
The victims told police the two men sneaked into the home in the 31000
block of San Ardo Road at about 11:50 p.m. Sunday, awakened a female, placed a gun to her head and demanded to know the whereabouts of another resident who wasn’t home, Cathedral City police Sgt. Corwin de Veas said.
The men then stole property from the home.
The victim’s mother arrived and confronted the suspects with a knife, de
Veas said. The suspects, identified by police as documented gang members
Michael Wayne Heddy and Mario Guillen, tried to cover their faces with their
shirts.
They ran outside and got in a white van, shooting at the person they
were looking for, who had just arrived at the residence, de Veas said.
Heddy is on probation for assault with a deadly weapon, the sergeant
said. Guillen is on probation for a narcotics offense. The van driver was not
identified.
Heddy was described as 5 foot 8, 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown
eyes. Guillen was described as 5 foot 7, 145 pounds. They should be considered
armed and dangerous, de Veas said.
Anyone who spots them was urged to call the Cathedral City Police
Department at (760) 770-0303.
