Youths Arrested in Palm Springs Robbery

A 19-year-old man and three teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of mugging another teen at knifepoint Friday, according to Palm Springs Police.

Brandon Wells of Desert Hot Springs was booked into the Larry D. Smith
jail for his alleged role in taking a skateboard, an I-Pod and other property from a 14-year-old boy on Farrell Drive and Tahquitz Canyon Way, Sgt. Mike Kovaleff said.

The boys, all 14 and from Desert Hot Springs, were booked on suspicion of robbery and held in a juvenile lockup. One of the teens was also booked on suspicion of carrying concealed dagger, and possession of marijuana.

According to officers, one of the teenagers lunged at the victim with a knife.
Wells allegedly threatened the victim and told him to empty his pockets. The stolen items were later returned to the victim.
