Stolen Car Found in Valley Canal

The California Highway Patrol says a car found in a canal at Avenue 68 and Costa Mesa Drive in North Shore was stolen.

At around noon Wednesday, Cal Fire responded to the Coachella Canal after someone reported seeing a car in the water.

Cal fire asked for assistance from the Riverside County Sheriff’s dive team to investigate to make sure there was no one in the car before removing it from the canal.

After determining that there was no one in the car, the car was removed. It was later determined that the car was stolen, and later pushed into the canal.

The investigation continues and no word on who owned the stolen car at this time.
