130 entertainers slated for the Greater Palm Springs Pride Celebration
Organizers of the Greater Palm Springs Pride Celebration announced have booked an “unprecedented” number of performers — 130 — for the Nov. 3-4 festival.
The pop duo Karmin, electronic music duo the Crystal Method, “American Idol” contestant Kimberly Caldwell and Susaye Greene, the last official member of the Supremes, are the headliners, according to Ron deHarte, president of Greater Palm Springs Pride.
Seven stages and three dance venues will be set up at Sunrise Park and in downtown Palm Springs for the festival, which will also feature dancing, food vendors, HIV/AIDS testing by the Desert AIDS Project and booths staffed by local organizations. A parade will be held the second day on Palm Canyon Drive.
Free shuttle service will be provided from several downtown locations to the festival from noon to 6:30 p.m. both days. A shuttle is also available from the Palm Springs Mall to the festival from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. each day.
Festival admission is $15 daily or $25 for a weekend pass; with a reduced entry fee of $10 per day for those aged 12-18 or 60 and up, or any student with ID. A $65 “premier” two-day admission, with beer and wine included, is also offered.
