Robbery at Circle K in Palm Desert

Authorities sought the public’s help today in finding a man who threatened a Circle K clerk with a knife and took money, cigarettes and lottery tickets from the store.
The robbery at the Circle K at the southwest corner of Country Club Drive and Washington Street was reported about 3:30 a.m. Thursday. A man entered and brandished a knife at the female cashier, demanding money. He ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash, several cartons of cigarettes and scratch-off lottery tickets, sheriff’s Sgt. Ken Black said.
No one else was in the store and no one was hurt, Black said.
The suspect was described as a black man, approximately 18, with a thin build, about 5 feet 8, 130 pounds, wearing dark jeans, a red hoodie and a blue baseball hat.
Anyone with information about the suspect was asked to call the sheriff’s department at (760) 836-1600 or Coachella Valley Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-7867.
