Emmy winner to headline Holiday AIDS benefit

“Sparkle: An All-Star Holiday Concert” is scheduled for 7 p.m tonight. The event will feature singers and television and Broadway performers.

The concert will be headlined by performers including actress and singer Mitzi Gaynor, who starred in the film version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “South Pacific,” Tony and Emmy-winning performer Lillias White, Grammy-nominated singer and television and Broadway actress Ilene Graff, two-time Emmy-nominated soap opera actress Bobbie Eakes, Tony nominee Sharon McKnight and actor Wilson Cruz of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “My So Called Life.”

All proceeds will benefit Desert AIDS Project. The agency provides medical care and comprehensive support services to people living with HIV/AIDS in the desert community.

The concert will take place at the Anneberg theater. General admission tickets are $65; VIP tickets are $150.
A free shuttle will run to and from LULU California Bistro, 200 S. Palm Canyon Drive.
