Valley Christmas tree sales strong this season
It’s a week before Christmas, and if you don’t have your tree yet, you might be out of luck.
Whether you stop by a local Christmas tree lot or one of the valley’s home improvement centers, you’ll notice, there aren’t many trees left.
Joe Whitney and his family have been selling Christmas trees in the Coachella Valley since 1965. He says he had a thousand trees shipped to his lot in Indio this year, but that sales have been so brisk, he could have used more.
“There must be a real good Christmas spirit going, because for us, I’ve never really sold down this low, this early, in a long, long time,” said Whitney.
There also isn’t much of a selection left at the Home Depot in La Quinta. Management says Christmas tree sales should exceed last year’s mark and that the store has received its last shipment.
