Holiday camp at The Living Desert gives children behind the scenes look

Children can attend The Living Desert Holiday Zoo Camp starting today.

Children between the ages of 4 to 14 will have behind-the-scenes tours and animal and keeper visits.

All sessions are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. until noon and cost $75 for members and $95 for non-members.

Sessions are scheduled every day except Sunday through Jan. 3.

“Getting outdoors at this time of year to learn about desert plants and animals is as much fun for us as it is for the kids”, said Mike Chedester, curator of education for The Living Desert.

Other holiday activities at the Living Desert include “Wildlights”, a celebration of holiday traditions from around the world. Visitors can expect to see over 750,000 twinkling lights illuminating the park after dark.

For information contact the Education Department at zoocamplivingdesert.org or call (760) 346-5694, ext. 2501.
