Firefighters Contain Fire After Three Mobile Homes Destroyed

Three mobile homes were destroyed and one was partially damaged after a fire broke out at the Carefree Mobile Home Park today in North Palm Springs. Cal Fire says the fire began at 12:36 p.m. When firefighters arrived one mobile home was on fire and another was threatened by flames.

The fire was contained at 1:30 p.m.

At this time, six adults and eleven children have been displaced. The Incident Commander has requested the assistance of the American Red Cross for those families . No injuries have been reported. Although one dog did perish in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Indian Canyon is closed at Dillon Road, and CHP says that will probably be for several hours.
