Juvenile back in custody after escaping during court proceedings
A juvenile is back in custody today after escaping during court proceedings at the IndioJuvenileCourthouse.
The juvenile was not happy with the way his court proceeding was progressing and decided to run out of the courtroom around noon. A courtroom deputy chased the individual and alerted nearby units of the escape.
According to reports, the suspect was running through backyards when he encountered a resident with a gun. The resident was able to hold up the juvenile for enough time to allow police to surround the area. When the juvenile jumped a wall in an attempt to leave the resident’s backyard, police were waiting for him on the other side.
The suspect was arrested at 12:15 p.m. and transported back to juvenile hall where he wasre-bookedon an escape charge.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
