Gas prices fall for 11th consecutive day

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regulargasoline in the Inland Empire fell today for the 11th consecutive day afterrising 30 times in 31 days, dropping three-tenths of a cent to $4.215.

The average price is 5.5 cents less than one week ago and 15.8 centsless less than one year ago, but 8.4 cents more than one month ago, accordingto figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The dropping pump prices coincide with a sharp drop in wholesalegasoline prices connected with most California refineries concluding theirscheduled maintenance in advance of the switch to sales of summer blendgasoline without major incidents, assuring an adequate supply, according toJeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
