Indian Wells DUI accident

Indian Wells Police arrest a La Quinta man for DUI after an early morning traffic accident.

Police responded to the accident at about 2:00am Sunday at the the intersection of Hwy 111 and El Dorado Drive.

Officers say a white Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on Hwy 111 when he failed to stop for a red light and rear-ended the car in front of him.

The three people in that care suffered minor to moderate non-life-threatening injuries and they were taken to local hospitals for observation and treatment.

Police identify the driver of the Ford Explorer as 47-year-old Gaeth Lovato from La Quinta.

Lovato suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Lovato was arrested for driving while intoxicated and booked into county jail in the city of Indio.
