Police search for man exposing himself to young girls in La Quinta
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has released this sketch in the search for a man who reportedly is exposing himself to female students near schools in La Quinta.
The Sheriff’s Department says the first incident occurred Tuesday, April 2. Officers from the La Quinta Police Department responded to an indecent exposure call that occurred in the area of Victoria Drive and Diane Street in La Quinta. The investigation revealed that at 2:30 p.m., a man driving a red sports utility vehicle exposed himself to female juveniles who were walking in the area. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.
A second incident occurred on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. in the same neighborhood. Investigation revealed the same man driving the same vehicle again exposed himself to female juveniles that were walking in the area of Desert Crest Drive and Desert Fox Drive. Deputies again searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Investigators assigned to the Thermal Station responded and assumed the investigation. Nobody was injured in either incident.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 18-20 years old, 6′ tall, with a thin build. He had short, black, spiked hair and was wearing black sunglasses. The suspect is reportedly driving a red or maroon older-model Sports utility vehicle.
Desert Sands Director of Security Jeffrey Kay told us that a recording was sent out to parents, in the Desert Sands Unified School District, on Wednesday alerting them to situation. The recording also urged parents to warn their kids especially if they are walking to school and to stay alert.
