Budweiser Clydesdales in Palm Desert today

A traveling team of Budweiser Clydesdales willparade down El Paseo today before heading to Indio for the Stagecoach countrymusic festival.

The world-famous horses, which stand six feet at the shoulder and weighan average of 2,000 pounds apiece, are scheduled to be at the Palm Desertshopping district from 2 to 4 p.m., event spokesman Clay Seddon said.

There are six “hitches” or teams of Budweiser Clydesdales — five ofwhich travel around the country and one which remains at the Anheuser-Buschbrewery complex in St. Louis, Mo. Eight horses are driven at one time, butthere are 10 horses on each team for rotation and rest purposes.

The horses will be at Stagecoach through Sunday, according toBudweiser’s website.
