Indio Councilman to run for newly created CA Senate seat
In an email to friends and supporters, Indio Councilman Glenn Miller said he is planning to run for the newly created 28th District Senate Seat.
Miller will formally announce his candidacy May 16th at the Fifth Annual Miller Time Golf Tournament in Indian Wells.
“This years tournament has special significance as I will formally be announcing my 2014 candidacy for the newly created 28th District Senate Seat which encompasses the entire Coachella Valley, as well as the communities of Temecula, Murrieta and surrounding areas,” he said in the email.
“I ask that you please join me in this tremendous undertaking to help put an end to the gridlock in Sacramento. Instead, we must focus on bi-partisan solutions to create jobs, encourage business growth, and focus on solving issues that are important to residents of the Coachella Valley and throughout the newly created 28th Senate District.”
In 2011, the California Citizens Redistricting Committie recreated the districtin Riverside County to include Indio, PalmSprings,Murrieta, and Temecula.
Before 2011, the district had been part of Los Angeles County.
