Angel View gets new outdoor therapy park

For Greg Bryan, life is good. He hasn’t been on a swing in almost 30 years.

“That was like outer space, flying in an airplane,” Bryan said.

Now, thanks to AGC Charities, Inc and volunteer contractors, Angel View in Desert Hot Springs offers independence outside. It’s the latest in AGC’s ‘Operation Opening Doors.’

“How amazing,” Bryan said.

“I had absolutely no idea how big this this project was going to be,” Melissa Acosta of Angel View said.

Three months later, the area of grass now has a swing, a xylophone, garden area, misters…the list goes on.

“It’s enhancing everyone’s life. They get to do so much more that they couldn’t do indoors,” Acosta said.

This project would have cost angel view nearly 300 thousand dollars.

“I’m glad there’s people that donate things like that,” Bryan said.

“Most people in our environment, we’ve ridden swings. But some of our consumers in wheelchairs with disabilities, they might not ever have been able to ride on a swing or do the basic things in life.”

With even more opportunity to experience life, “Oh yeah. I’m happy. Yeah I’m happy. Why wouldn’t I be?” Bryan said.
