Police looking for woman suspected of breaking into homes

Authorities investigating an attempted home burglary inTemecula were seeking the public’s help today in identifying a woman seenringing the doorbells of two homes in the early morning hours.

Deputies called around 6:10 a.m. Friday to a home in the 31700 block ofCorte Cardenas learned that the victims were asleep in their residence whenthey were awakened by the front doorbell, said Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt.K. McDonald. They looked outside and saw a woman standing at their front door,McDonald said.

“The suspect left the residence and drove over to a neighbor’sresidence and rang their doorbell. When no one answered the door the suspectgot into a newer model, light silver-colored car and drove away,” McDonaldsaid. “Moments later the victim heard a noise at the rear of the residence anddiscovered the glass sliding door to the patio had been smashed. No additionalsuspects were seen.”

The woman seen ringing the doorbells was black, 30-40 years old with amedium build and long black hair that was pulled into a pony tail. She waswearing light-colored pants, a light red jacket and a multi-colored red, whiteand blue blouse.
