Forum to help teens and young adults in Rancho Mirage today

About 100 organizations that serve teenagers andyoung adults will participate in a forum in Rancho Mirage today.

Oasis Community Services’ Desert Region TAY “UnConvention,” whichstarts at 9 a.m. at the Annenberg Center for Health Sciences at EisenhowerMedical Center, is meant to create awareness of the resources the groups offerin eastern Riverside County.

The county Department of Mental Health started the project to improvethe level of service provided to people ages 16 to 24.

Supervisor John Benoit will highlight county programs funded by theMental Health Services Act.

Other presenters include Coachella Valley Sexual Assault Services,

Family Services of the Desert, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention,

Mourning Star Center, Operation SafeHouse, Christopher’s Clubhouse, California

Department of Rehabilitation, Center for Employment Training, Jewish Family

Service of the Desert, ABC Recovery Center and the LGBT Community Center of the

Desert.
