NFL Player losing endorsement deals because of homicide investigation
New England Patriots player, Aaron Hernandez is starting to loose endorsement deals because of an investigation into a homicide near his home. The company that makes Muscle Milk is terminating his contract because of the police investigation.
This comes as police issued an arrest warrant for Hernandez. Police say he is to be charged with obstruction of justice in connection with the murder of his friend Odin Lloyd.
Investigators tell ABC News, the video retrieved from surveillance cameras near Hernandez’s home show the two men together in the hours before Lloyd was shot in the back of the head.
Lloyd’s body was found just a mile away from the NFL star’s home.
Police investigating the homicide believe that Hernandez intentionally destroyed potential evidence.
Good Morning America’s Legal Correspondent, Dan Abrams weighed in Hernandez’s legal problems. “They’ve got the destroyed security system. They’ve got the cell phone in pieces. they’ve got the housekeeping coming in. They’re saying, boy, we think we’ve at least got enough to move forward with an arrest on obstruction of justice. That does not mean that they will not later charge him with something more significant.”
So far, no one has been charged in Lloyd’s death. Hernandez has made no comments about the case. But, his legal issues continue. In a separate case, Hernandez is being sued in Florida by a man who claims he shot him in the face after an argument at a strip club.
