Temperatures reach 118 in Palm Springs, tie record

Temperatures reached 118 in Palm Springs today at around 2:30 p.m., tying the record for the area.

A strong ridge of high pressure will strengthen over the west, bringing very hot conditions to the inland areas through Sunday.

Temperature records will likely break this weekend as well. A gradual cooling trend will then develop for the middle part of next week.

But for now, it’s obviously very hot outside, so do your best to stay inside, stay hydrated, and if you don’t have air conditioning, go to a cooling center.

Seriously, go to a cooling center.
