Record breaking heat continues in the Coachella Valley

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Coachella Valley. Temperatures are expected to rise above 115 degrees on Sunday.

Palm Springs reached 122 degrees Saturday making it the hottest June day in history, says the National Weather Service. The previous hottest day in June was 121 degrees, on June 29th, 1994.

In Thermal temperatures also reached 122 degrees, this tied the all time June temperature record which was on June 26th, 1990.

Doctors warn that you should take measures to stay cool and hydrate yourself if you plan to be outdoors. You should also take extra precautions with children and pets.
