Authorities say a Riverside County sheriff’s deputy has shot and killed a man who refused to drop a knife.

The Riverside Press-Enterprisesays it happened just before 5 p.m. Tuesday on Railroad Avenue between the communities of Cabazon and Whitewater.

Sgt. Lisa McConnell says deputies were searching for the man because they had received a tip that he was armed with knives.
