PSPD release mugshot of arrested America’s Next Top Model contestant

Police released the mugshot of model Renee Alway today, who was arrested on June 28th in Palm Springs after police found her with a gun.

The arrest came after what turned into a standoff on the 600 block of Violeta Drive. It began with police responding to reports of a suspicious woman in the area. While looking for the woman, police noticed the rear door to a residence was open.

They were soon informed that the residence should be vacant. Police searched inside the place and located 27-year-old Renee Alway hiding in the garage.Alway was arrested on charges resulting from an unrelated investigation, according to PSPD press release. Police also say she was “in possession of a firearm” at the time.

Police were then informed (who informed them is also not mentioned in the release) that there was still a man inside the residence with a handgun.

The Palm Springs/Cathedral City SWAT team responded. They called out to the suspected man inside and when theyreceivedno response,the SWAT team entered the residence and searched for the armed subject.

It was concluded that there was no man inside the residence.

Renee Alway was a contestant on America’s Next Top Model in 2007.
