Home catches fire in DHS

A home in Desert Hot Springs caught fire just after noon today but was quickly put out by firefighters.

The fire happened at an 800 square foot home on Acoma Drive near West Drive. The house was not completely destroyed, but the owner will be displaced.

There were no reported injuries.

Officials said the fire probably started because of faulty wiring, but that is not confirmed as the investigation is ongoing.
