Small earthquake shakes southwestern Riverside County

A small earthquake has struck southwestern Riverside County but no damage or injuries are reported.

The U.S. Geological Survey says a quake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.6 struck just before 6:30 a.m. Thursday. It was centered five miles southeast of Temecula.

A Sheriff’s Department dispatcher says there are no reports of damage or injuries.

Temecula is about 45 miles north of San Diego.
