Eastvale man kills wife, attempts to kill self

A woman was killed and a man severely injured in anabortive murder-suicide in Eastvale, authorities said today.

The incident occurred in the 6500 block of Wells Spring Street around10:50 p.m. Monday, said Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Lisa McConnell.

“A family member came home and discovered him (the injured man)” andthe deceased woman and called 911, McConnell said.

The two residents were an older married couple, she said. The man’sinjuries were so severe that he might also have died if the relative had notshown up when he did, McConnell said.

“He is expected to survive,” she said of the injured man.

“It wasn’t a shooting,” McConnell said, but she was not immediatelysure what weapon was used.

The crime scene investigation continued inside the home through theearly morning hours, McConnell said.
