Five injured, one seriously, after head-on collision in Beaumont

Five people were injured, one of them seriously, in atwo-vehicle crash in Beaumont today, a county fire department spokesman said.

The collision was reported around 9:10 a.m. at East First Street andBeaumont Avenue. All five victims were transported to area hospitals — onewith major injuries, one with moderate injuries and three with minor injuries,Riverside County Fire Department spokesman Mark Annas said.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
