Rain causes issues after flood warning issued

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Riverside County, including the mountain burn area, in effect until 6:58 p.m.

Update (5:11 p.m.) – Multiple accidents on Interstate 10 have slowed traffic to a crawl on both the eastbound and westbound sides of the freeway. We’ve counted five accidents so far.

5 p.m. storm update

Update (5:05 p.m.) – Cathedral Canyon Dr has been closed at the wash due to flooding.

Update (4:50 p.m.) – Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort is experiencing heavy flooding, as can be seen in the video above.

Update (4:34 p.m.) – The National Weather Service has extended the flood warning until 6:58 p.m.

Update (4:26 p.m.) – Two lanes are closed on the westbound I-10 near Haugen Lehman after a big rig jack-knifed on the freeway.

Update (4:13 p.m.) -CHP says Mountain center at Hwy 74 and Hwy 371 is flooded.

Update (3:45 p.m.) – Our crew in Palm Springs says Araby Dr in Palm Springs is shut down due to a “wall of water” that passed through the area.
