1,900 pot plants seized, 17 arrested in SB County
Authorities say 17 people were arrested and nearly 2,000 marijuana plants were seized when sheriff’s deputies served search warrants in San Bernardino County.
According to Jodi Miller spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dept. the investigation was a combined effort between the Sheriff’s Narcotics Division and personnel from the Morongo Basin. 110 pounds of processed marijuana was confiscated when the six warrants were served Wednesday in Landers and Yucca Valley.
At least 1,900 plants were seized.
Investigators say at one site, 378 plants up to 5 feet tall were growing on a one-and-a-half acre plot.
Sheriff’s officials said in a statement that the amount of pot seized was “not consistent with personal use and suggests the suspects had no intention abiding to the state’s medical marijuana laws.”
