New app gives information about LGBT happenings

“I was surprised to discover Palm Springs didn’t have anything like this,” Brad Fuhr, founder of the Gay Desert Guide, said.

Brad Fuhr refers to one simple place for locals and visitors alike to stay in tune with the LGBT community.

“We have so many people that visit here, many from San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego. When they come to town, they want to know what to do or where to go,” Fuhr said.

Now, a mecca of knowledge about LGBT happenings – literally at your fingertips – with the Gay Desert Guide free smartphone app.

“There’s six different buttons and those include the attractions, all the hiking trails. There’s a business directory of LGBT businesses and events, directories which includes a happy hour finder. Then there’s a section for videos and photographs as well,” he said.

Everything a person needs to know to feel welcome, whether they’re on vacation or enjoying a night out in their own town.

You can find the Gay Desert Guide not only on the app, but also all over other social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, and of course their website.

“The website has everything from booking travel to meet-ups, where you can find anything happening in the area. The ability to look for tramway tickets,” Fuhr said.

Fuhr plans to promote this new app at the upcoming Gay Pride parade – proud to keep the LGBT community a connected one.
