Elvis Honeymoon home tours offered for Halloween
Tours are planned today at the Palm Springs estate where Elvis and Priscilla Presley spent their honeymoon.
Those who take a tour of the residence at 1350 Ladera Circle are encouraged to come in costume, and the best Elvis costume will get a prize.
Tours are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1, 3:30 and 6 p.m. — the 6 p.m. tour is the estate’s first night tour. The house will be decorated for Halloween, candy will be passed out and children can attend for half price, according to organizers.
Known as Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway, the estate also hosts corporate events, filming and weddings.
Elvis leased the estate in 1966, and he and Priscilla spent their honeymoon there in May 1967. They gathered at the estate and flew to Las Vegas on Frank Sinatra’s jet, got married and flew back to Palm Springs the same day, according to the Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway website.
