16-month-old child nearly drowns
(CNS) – A 16-month-old child accidentally fell into a swimming pool at a Bermuda Dunes location, a sheriff’s sergeant said Sunday.
It was not known how long the child was underwater, but family members yanked the child out of the pool during the accident in the 78000 block of Bent Canyon Court, which they reported at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, according to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Jeronimo Contreras.
The child’s gender was not made public. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed on the child, who was taken to a hospital. While a medical condition was not disclosed, Contreras said the child’s condition improved and no foul play was suspected.
