One person dead after being struck by truck in Indio
One person has died after being struck by a truck in Indio.
Firefighters responded to the scene at Monroe Streeet and Carreon Boulevard. at 5:52 a.m. Wednesday.
Authorities said a Hispanic man was in the middle of the road when he was struck by a motorist driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The pedestrian was pinned under the truck and died at the scene.
The driver was not injured and was cooperating with police.
Police said to expect Monroe Street to be closed to northbound traffic between Doctor Carreon Boulevard and Comet Street for most of the morning.
