The Ladies of “The View” Chat It Up with Anchor Karen Devine
It was “The View” West Coast style all week as Barbara Walters, Whoopie Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy talked the talk at Disneyland in Anaheim this week with special guest host Demi Lovato. The ladies of The View enjoyed Disneyland and all it had to offer, even celebrating Mickey Mouse’s 85th birthday. KESQ News Channel 3 Anchor, Karen Devine had the opportunity to sit down at the table and talk to the hosts about their visit to Southern California and what they like best about working together on the show.
It was Barbara Walter’s first visit to Disneyland. She joked that she’s been to Tibet and to most places around the world, but not Disneyland and she said, “It’s Wonderful.” Sherri Shepherd got the opportunity to bring her young son on this trip. She said, “I took him all around the park, creating memories for him and me.”
The newest member of The View, Jenny McCarthy said, that while she loves Disneyland, she’s thrilled about being a part of the “Dream Team.” “When I got the phone call I literally dropped to my knees in Evans bedroom and said a prayer and said thank you because it’s what I love to do. This has been the best support system. I’ve learned so much, I couldn’t be in better hands. I’m so proud to be here,” said Jenny.
Whoopie Goldberg says she really enjoys working with her co-hosts and everyday is something new. “It makes life simple, I’ve learned about stuff, things I never wanted to learn. I can actually have conversations with people that are surprised that I know about that.”
That’s the beauty of “The View.” The show gets the ratings because the hosts discuss the news of the day, they give their personal opinions and sometimes get into some pretty big arguments. But, at the end of the day they are able to leave their differences behind and remain pals.
“It’s easier for people to think in the stereo typical fashion, they think it’s impossible for people to understand that we can have disagreements and still be friends,” says Whoopie. Barbara chimed in saying, “We are very supportive of each other, I feel and I think we all do, that we have each other’s backs.”
The View airs weekdays at 10 a.m. on KESQ News Channel 3.
