Hundreds of animals adopted at super pet adoption festival in Rancho Mirage

More than 200 animals found loving homes this weekend at the Loving all Animals pet adoption event in Rancho Mirage.

Riverside County was just one of almost three dozen shelter and rescue group organizations transporting animals to the event.

This year’s theme, “There’s No Place Like a Home,” played off the “Wizard of Oz” magic with a makeshift yellow-brick road and characters representing Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion.

Most of the dogs were already spayed or neutered for the event so adopters could immediately head home with their new family member.
