Time Warner expands WiFi to Coachella Valley

Customers of Time Warner Cable in the Coachella Valley can expect WiFi service for free in many more areas in the upcoming months.

A spokeswoman announced Wednesday that TWC will expand its WiFi network to offer additional hotspots for customers who have at least standard internet service through the company. The network has grown to more than 13K hotspots in two years in the Los Angeles area.

The expanded service is also available to Business Class internet customers and non-subscribers of TWC on a pay-as-you-go basis, according to Deborah Picciolo, Senior Vice President of Operations.

“It’s like taking your home internet service with you,” said Picciolo.

Aside from the hotspots TWC customers can access for free in Southern California, there are over 200K locations nationwide, including New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia and Atlanta to name a few.

Picciolo said the company launched the first phase of the Coachella Valley WiFi expansion in November and it plans to grow steadily in 2014 throughout popular areas in the region.

WiFi will also be available at the Club at PGA West golf resort next year, according to Picciolo.
