22 high school students arrested in undercover sting

Twenty-two high school students were arrested in Riverside County on Thursday after an undercover operation revealed crack cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and prescription pills were being sold at school, according to a release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The Special Investigations Bureau conducted the sting that involved mostly juvenile students selling narcotics at Perris High School and Paloma Valley High School.

Serina Ramirez, 18, and Erick De La Cruz, 19, were the only two adult students arrested, according to the sheriff’s department. They both attend Perris High School in the City of Perris, California. They were taken to the Southwest Detention Center.

Additonally, 20 juvenile students were arrested and taken to the Perris Station where they were offered counseling services before being transported to Juvenile Hall. Authorities said a total of 23 juveniles were involved in the investigation.

Multiple agencies including narcotics task forces and a gang task force worked with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to make the arrests.
