‘Soak City’ is getting rebranded to ‘Wet ‘n’ Wild Palm Springs’

‘Knott’s Soak City’ will now be known as ‘Wet ‘n’ Wild Palm Springs’, according to officials with Premier Parks, LLC. They also said a fun, new attraction is coming to the park that will bring surfing to the desert in 2014.

The Flow Rider is a high thrill wave machine that allows guests of all ages to experience the thrill of catching that perfect wave again and again. Flow Rider is one of the most unique wave riding attractions in the world. It features a patented sheet wave technology which creates an endless wave for riders creating a ride unlike anything most people have ever tried, according to park management.

“We are thrilled to bring surfing to the desert,” said David Andrews, Jr., general manager of Wet ‘n’ Wild Palm Springs. “This is going to be a great new attraction for our park guests and we are excited about the many things we have planned for the park. This is a special community and we look forward to partnering with the greater Palm Springs area to bring tourists to the market and provide locals a fun, family place to stay cool in the summertime.”

The 21-acre water park was acquired in August by CNL Lifestyle Properties Inc. and is managed by Premier Parks, LLC. Premier, which is led by Kieran Burke, former chairman and CEO of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, officials said.

The new management has plans to increase the entertainment value of their season pass with the addition of free Dive In Movies and new event promotions plus increased benefits like discounted parking passes and reduced pricing on passes if you purchase early. 2014 Season passes can be purchased now for the lowest price of the season athttp://www.wetnwildpalmsprings.com.

According to the water park’s website, opening day is scheduled for March, 15, 2014., at 11 a.m. It costs $55 for a season pass and $94.50 for a premium season pass.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Palm Springs has 13 waterslides, a lazy river, a tidal wave pool, and a family treehouse containing waterslides, hose jets, water curtains and a 1,000-gallon dropping water bucket. The water park also contains a poolside and cabana bar, two restaurants, two ice cream and snack shacks, according to park management.
