High-speed chase in Indio leads to the arrest of two people

Two men are facing charges, accused of leading police on a high-speed chase through the East Valley.

Officers say they spotted a stolen vehicle Tuesday night just before 7 p.m. in Indio. The driver took off when police tried to stop him.

Authorities say the police pursuit lasted about 10 minutes with the suspect reaching speeds topping 80 mph. They say the driver then lost control and crashed into a light pole on Keller Court.

Officers took the driver and a passenger into custody.

They have not released any names of those involved.
