Law firm teams with cabbies for safe holiday travel

American Cab is joining with Walter Clark Legal Group to promote safe driving during the holidays by offering free rides at select times.

The ‘Home Safe’ Program will provide free cab rides home within Coachella Valley cities from 10:00pm-3:00am on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

The two companies will work together to commit resources to public awareness events as part of the program as well, according to organizers.

“We’re really proud of this partnership,” said Greg Klibanov, general manager of American Cab. “By working together, we can really put resources behind this initiative and help to save lives by doing our part to keep drunk drivers off the road.”

American Cab and Walter Clark Legal Group are working on additional outreach efforts to partner with other businesses locally, including bars and restaurants.

“We’ve provided free rides for some holidays in the past, but more can be done, and this is a concerted effort between our companies to come up with a variety of different ways to reach out to the community and decrease drunk driving incidences,” said Walter Clark, principal of Walter Clark Legal Group.

If you’re going out to drink for the New Year holiday, you can call (760) 300-0000 and ask for a ‘Home Safe’ ride.

The free cab service is available to people who live in Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Desert Hot Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Indio and Coachella, according to officials.

But remember, the free cabs will only be offered from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The companies also had free cabs running during that time on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Have fun and be safe as you make the shift into the New Year.
