2 arrested after ordering pizza, robbing delivery man

Two people are in custody after being accused of robbing a pizza delivery man in Joshua Tree on Wednesday.

Police said 29-year-old Arthur Garrido and Elizabeth Silva, also 29, ordered a pizza to their home on the 7400 block of Sherwood Road Wednesday at 4:40 p.m.

When the pizza was delivered, police said Garrido robbed the driver of the pizza and the cash he was carrying. The man wasn’t hurt during the robbery.

After investigating, officers arrested Garrido and Silva for strong arm robbery and possession of stolen property. Silva is also being charged with violating probation.

Garrido and Silva were booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and are being held on $100,000 bail each.
