Injured hiker rescued off Palm Desert trail

An injured hiker is recovering after being rescued off a Palm Desert trail on Monday. According to Cal. Fire, the hiker was with a group on the Hop Along Cassidy Trail when he fell around 11:00 a.m.

The hiker reportedly tumbled about 40 feet off the trail and was hoisted by a C.H.P helicopter to an awaiting ambulance on the ground.

The hiker was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries, mostly cuts and bruises and neck pain.
