Palm Springs looks for new educational board member
The Palm Springs Unified School District’s Board of Education is looking for a new member to fill the seat vacated by Justin Blake, it announced Wednesday.
Blake said his resignation will come on February, 1.
The board is seeking qualified applicants for a provisional appointment on or before its meeting on February, 25. The new member will fill the seat through the end of Blake’s term, which will end on December, 5, 2014.
The deadline to apply for the position is January, 23, and interviews will be scheduled at the Board of Education meeting on February, 11, according to officials.

Blake has served on the Board since 2005 and cited personal and business
obligations as his reasons for his resignation, according to the Board of Education.
