Unemployment numbers released for Riverside, San Bernadino County

Officials in Riverside County and San Bernadino County have released the most recent unemployment numbers.

The unemployment rate in the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario MSA was 8.9 percent in December 2013, down from a revised 9.4 percent in November 2013, and below the year-ago estimate of 11 %, according to county officials.

This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 7.9 % for California and 6.5 % for the nation during the same period.

The unemployment rate was 9.1 % in Riverside County, and 8.7 % in San Bernardino County.

Officials said between November 2013 and December 2013, total non-farm employment increased from 1,188,200 to 1,194,900.
