Indio man arrested for hotel burglaries

An Indio man has been arrested on multiple counts of burglary, possession of stolen property and credit card fraud. The charges came after police found stolen property from an Indian Wells hotel at the suspect’s home.

Victor Zamarripa, 38, was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio on Monday afternoon.

Police said the crimes happened in multiple hotel rooms from December, 28, to January, 10.

The Indian Wells Special Enforcement Team served a search warrant at Zamarripa’s home in the 80000 block of Lafayette Court in Indio and found stolen items from the hotel, including credit cards.

It’s not clear how Zamarripa was able to get into the hotel rooms; police said the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone who may have information about the case is asked to call Deputy Milbrandt at the Palm Desert Station at (760) 836-1600.
