Crowd anxiously awaits President’s arrival in Palm Springs
The excitement of the presidential visit can be felt all around the Coachella Valley. People began lining up near Palm Springs International Airport Friday morning in hopes of catching a glimpse of President Obama when he lands.
As Cal Trans began to set up barricades at Kirk Douglas Way near the airport, cars lined the street with people hoping to catch a photo or take video of Air Force One as it descends into Palm Springs, or possibly the presidential motorcade as it makes its way to Rancho Mirage.
Many people News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 spoke with are calling the event an unforgettable opportunity.
“I don’t have to go to Washington,” said Anthony Ross. “I mean, this is my second time seeing him, like I said, it doesn’t happen everyday, that we get to see the President…So that’s why we’re here and I get to share that experience with my wife and my kid.”
The White House is always very secretive about travel plans, and rightfully so. We’re waiting to see if a motorcade is used or if some of the military choppers will be used to take the President to Sunnylands Estate.
