Suspect out on bail arrested for burglary

A suspected burglar, out on bail, was arrested early Saturday morning by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the Sheriff’s Department news release, they responded to a residential alarm on the 77-000 block of California Avenue in Palm Desert just after 1:00 a.m Saturday.

When they arrived on scene, deputies found evidence of a forcible burglary at the home. They were unable to locate any suspects. Further investigation revealed the possible identity of the suspect at which time officers from the La Quinta Police Department responded to the 52000 block of Avenida Diaz in the city of La Quinta.

Francisco Acevedo, age 21 of La Quinta, was located at the residence. Items from the burglary scene were located with Acevedo says the Sheriff’s Department.

Acevedo was arrested for residential burglary, violation of probation, and committing a felony while released on bail. He was booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility located in the city of Banning.
