Presidents’ Day parade and closures
Today is Veterans’ Appreciation Day at the Riverside County Fair and Date Festival. The annual Presidents’ Day parade starts at 9 a.m.
Local, state and federal government offices will be closed today in observance of Presidents’ Day.
The closures include administrative offices, libraries, pools and recreation centers and schools.
There will be no trash collection in the city of Riverside, but refuse will be collected on the regular weekday schedule in Palm Springs.
Buses will also operate on their normal schedules.
In the Palm Springs area, the following attractions will be open today: the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert, Indian Canyons, Living Desert and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
Sunnylands Center & Gardens, where President Barack Obama has been staying since Friday, will be closed.
