Free dog vaccines, other services offered this weekend

The Lucy Pet Foundation is coming to Indio this weekend to offer free vaccinations and spay and neutering services for dogs.

The services take place on Friday and Saturday at the City of Indio Municipal Golf Course, located at 83040 Avenue 42.

Organizers said they will do free vaccines for 500 dogs and spay and neuter 450 more at no cost. Free vaccines, including rabies, will be given to the first 250 dogs each day; check in time is 8 a.m.

To book your appointment, the preferred method is to email info@lucypetfoundation.org due to the high-volume of calls the organization receives.

You can also call 855-499-5829. The last time the organization was in town, many folks had trouble making an appointment via phone, so it’s best to send them an email as soon as possible.

Officials with Animal Services in Riverside County said if you have a citation for not having your animal spayed or neutered, the county will rip up your citation after you get spayed or neutered at this event.

The Lucy Foundation is now partners with The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and wants to thank Walter Clark Legal Group.
